Beyond One Perspective — How Dialogue Shapes Better Product Thinking
Product Manager
Takumi Ogawa × Jessica Ho
Career Summary
Takumi
After joining ITOCHU Interactive Corporation, Takumi worked on product management for the LINE chat application before joining Bekind Labs.
Jess
Jess began her career in recruitment and later became a Product Manager at Mercari, where she helped develop the marketplace app. After taking a career break, she joined Bekind Labs to continue her journey as a PM.
Q
Can you tell us about your career so far?
Takumi:
In my previous company, I had the option to move into a more people management–focused role, but I really wanted to return to where products are actually made.
Around that time, a designer friend told me about Bekind Labs. I joined one of their one-day interviews out of curiosity — and it didn’t feel like an interview at all. It was more like actually working together. I naturally got a sense of the team’s values and atmosphere.
I realized they were a team that genuinely practiced Lean and Agile — not just talked about it — and I felt this was an environment where I could keep growing. That’s why I decided to join.
Jess:
When I was rethinking my career, I met Heewon, the founder of Bekind Labs, and was deeply inspired by the mission to root the principles of Lean and XP in Japan.
What struck me was that Lean and Agile weren’t treated as frameworks here — they were simply part of everyday work. Everyone operated with the same mindset and shared values. Through our conversations, I felt the atmosphere of the team and became convinced — this is where I can truly grow as a PM.
" Lean and Agile aren’t just ideals here — they’re part of everyday work. "

Q
How do you work at Bekind Labs?
At Bekind Labs, Product Managers always work in pairs to lead a project together. By continuously sharing hypotheses and perspectives, we naturally expand our viewpoints. When you work alone, it’s easy to miss things — but through your partner’s questions and feedback, your thinking becomes sharper.
In the process of hypothesis validation, differences in perspective become real value. For example, when one of us is focused on user behavior, the other might be thinking about business impact. Those perspectives intersect, and that’s when we reach more fundamental questions.
Working as a pair also helps maintain alignment across the entire team. Even in client discussions, while one person speaks, the other can organize thoughts or form the next hypothesis — balancing both speed and depth. At Bekind Labs, we teach, use, and learn Lean and Agile simultaneously — and that continuous learning cycle is what defines our culture.
" Hypotheses aren’t refined through solo thinking — they’re sharpened through dialogue. "

Q
What makes Bekind Labs unique?
We see Bekind Labs not as a place to deliver projects, but as a place to learn and grow them together as a team. We don’t look for people who already have the right answers — we look for people who can form hypotheses, test them through dialogue, and learn along the way.
Here, we don’t just teach Lean and Agile — we live it, experimenting and iterating every day. That’s why we value honesty over perfection, and understanding over speed. Clients and team members discuss openly and equally, learning and growing together. If that kind of collaboration feels natural to you, you’ll find Bekind Labs a very comfortable and fulfilling place to work.
" More than finding the right answers — we value the honesty to keep learning. "

Q
Any final words for those who are thinking about joining the team?
" More than finding the right answers — we value the honesty to keep learning. "
